One new project we're excited to work with is keeping and breeding Amphilophus sp. "chancho".
At this time not much is know about Amphilophus sp. "chancho" (at least by us). So we'll try to update this page as time goes by.
At this time Amphilophus sp. "chancho" is still an "undescribed" member of the "midas complex" of cichlids.
Amphilophus sp. "chancho" is reported as coming from Guatemala and Nicaragua (maybe even a larger area). It reportedly reaches a size of 16 inches or more and is the largest member of the "midas complex".
Below are a few pictures of young Amphilophus sp. "chancho" in our collection.
Amphilophus sp.chancho's still growing.
All the chanchos that will fit in a single picture anymore.
More Amphilophus sp "chancho" pictures will be added as they grow and change.
